Frolicking Before D-Day

KPFT’s Spring pledge drive kicks off in a few hours (Monday is drive-day, the start of our spring campaign). Please visit www.kpft.org to make your secure online pledge right now. We’re out to raise quite a bit, and we can do it. Your help would be enormously helpful, of course! A few random notes:

  • Arthur magazine has a priceless interview with Godsmack posted now. Godsmack’s music has been used by the military to recruit kids, and the mag verbally whips the head of Godsmack’s Sully Erna over past remarks, the use of the band’s sound to lure youth to war, and the war. Nice.
  • Monday kicks off Share Your OPML at TechCrunch. Don’t know what an OPML is? Stop by.
  • Those into web apps will want to check out eHub. Nearly 5K subs and growing.
  • Mr. Sun posts what’s becoming a popular topic: reducing information overload. But his comment in Information Enema is something I will try to exercise more regularly: “I try not to read, watch, listen, or participate in moronic back and forth chest-thumping sessions in which no real information or humanity is exchanged.”
  • Finally, some things to waste time on: the online game Johnny Rottenfingers and Dumb Dinosaur.

I am pitching with most of our evening slots, and will be happy to chat with y’all when not on air. Updates on the NBA semi-finals most appreciated! Again, visit www.kpft.org to make your secure online pledge right now. Thanks much!
