Pacifica Launches Election411
Just got this from Nathan Moore:
Hello friends,
The Democratic National Convention starts on Monday, and with it, Pacifica is launching Election411.org.
The site will feature up-to-the-minute blogs from people on the ground in Denver and St. Paul, highlights from Pacifica’s convention radio broadcasts, comments and discussion from site visitors, a trove of archival audio from the Pacifica Radio Archives, and audio, text, and pics submitted by all sorts of people around the conventions.
And we’d like you involved! Are you producing any audio around the conventions or other election issues in the weeks ahead? Got any articles you’ve written or transcribed interviews that you’d like to share? Any interesting, telling, or remarkable election-related photos to contribute? Submissions might take the form of reports, interviews, vox pops, commentaries, or graphics that highlight, illuminate, analyze, or critique these conventions and election season happenings. Send content my way, and we’ll consider it for publication. And pass this invitation along to others in the Pacifica universe who you think would like to contribute content.
After the conventions wrap up, the site will continue – all the way to November. We’d like this to be a network-wide Pacifica foray into building an online media presence around the elections.
For at least the next couple weeks, I’ll be collecting, sifting, and editing content from Pacifica folks like you for Election411.org. Simply email submissions to me at nathan@pacifica.org. (Audio files over 5 MB should be uploaded somewhere like Audioport rather than sent as an email attachment.) Audio files should be in mp3 format; graphics should be in jpg, png, of gif format.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Otherwise, I hope to start receiving content soon!
